Review 'PJ Campanaro Attorney at Law' with ReviewBiz local SEO tools from BrightLocal.com

Portland Campanaro, Attorney at Law

Portland Campanaro grew up in picturesque Seymour, Tennessee, 10 miles east of Knoxville and at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains. She attended the University of Tennessee and received an undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Political Science in 1996. PJ then went on to law school at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, receiving her law degree in 1999.

While attending law school, PJ was a law clerk for the District Attorney's office in Knoxville, TN, working directly with the District Attorney on the Thomas "Zoo Man" Husky serial killer case.

After graduating law school, PJ began working as an Assistant District Attorney for the Ninth Judicial District, prosecuting domestic, child abuse, and sexual abuse cases. PJ was recognized by the Tennessee Rural Legal Services in 2001 for her successful prosecution of these types of cases.

PJ went on to prosecute asset forfeiture cases based on Drug Cases and DUI cases for the State of Tennessee, becoming only one of six attorneys in the State with this specialized training and assisting the state in the forfeiture of millions of dollars.

In 2004, PJ was married to her husband Matt and they moved to the Augusta area, making this area their home. PJ was hired by the former Solicitor General and current Superior Court Judge Sheryl Jolly and began her career at the Solicitor General's Office. During her six years at the Solicitor's Office, PJ had a 100 % success rate on her DUI cases in Richmond County. She faced some of the most experienced and entrenched lawyers in the Augusta Area and became intimately familiar with all types of criminal cases.

PJ quickly was appointed to the position of Chief Assistant Solicitor General and became Acting Solicitor General after the resignation of Solicitor Harold Jones. PJ left the Solicitor's Office in 2010 to begin her private law practice and put her arsenal of skills to use for the good people of the CSRA.

PJ has been a member of the Augusta Bar Association since 2004 and has served in several Leadership Positions with Young Lawyers of Augusta including President of that organization. PJ is a proud 2010 graduate of Leadership Augusta. PJ is active in the running and triathlon community, competing in both the Augusta Half Marathon and the Augusta Ironman 70.3. PJ lives in Evans with her husband Matt, daughter, and rescue dog Buddy.
