The Law Office of PJ Campanaro was formed in 2010 after PJ had spent over 10 years in the trenches of litigation as a prosecutor. PJ grew up in a small town in East Tennessee and pursued and English and Political Science degree from the University of Tennessee. She graduated in 1996 from the University of Tennessee knowing that she was ready to pursue a law degree after having headed a Nationally Competitive Mock Trial Team.
PJ pursued her law degree at Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama and continued her Mock Trial success making it to the championship round of the Mock Trial Competition in only her second year of law school. PJ received an opportunity to work as a law clerk on a major criminal case involving a serial killer in Knoxville, Tennessee and finished out her legal studies while working daily on the Zoo Man case.
After law school, PJ worked as an Assistant District Attorney General, a Staff Attorney for the State of Tennessee pursuing asset forfeitures, and then, after moving to Georgia, worked as the Chief Assistant Solicitor General in Richmond County for six years. PJ has taken hundreds of cases to trial and had 100% conviction rate on her DUI cases in Richmond County. She faced some of the most experienced and entrenched lawyers in the Augusta Area and became intimately familiar with all types of criminal cases.
PJ went on to prosecute asset forfeiture cases based on Drug Cases and DUI cases for the State of Tennessee, becoming only one of six attorneys in the State with this specialized training and assisting the state in the forfeiture of millions of dollars.
PJ quickly was appointed to the position of Chief Assistant Solicitor General and became Acting Solicitor General after the resignation of Solicitor Harold Jones. PJ left the Solicitor’s Office in 2010 to begin her private law practice and put her arsenal of skills to use for the good people of the CSRA.
PJ has been a member of the Augusta Bar Association since 2004 and has served in several Leadership Positions with Young Lawyers of Augusta including President of that organization. PJ is a proud 2010 graduate of Leadership Augusta. PJ is active in the running and triathlon community, competing in both the Augusta Half Marathon and the Augusta Ironman 70.3. PJ lives in Evans, Georgia with her family.
